5G NETWORK-ANALYSIS
5th generation mobile networks/wireless systems, abbreviated 5G, are the proposed next telecommunications standards beyond the current 4G technology
FEATURES
- Higher speed than current 4G network.
- higher density of mobile broadband users
- supporting device-to-device within networks
- ultra reliable
- massive machine communications.
-5th Generation mobile/wireless networks R&D aims at lower latency than 4G equipment and lower battery consumption, for better implementation of the Internet of things.
-Next Generation Mobile Networks Alliance defines the following requirements must be fulfilled for 5G standards
- Data rates of 10Mb/s for tens of thousands of users
- Data rates of 100Mb/s for metropolitan areas
- 1Gb/s simultaneously to many workers on the same office floor
- hundreds of thousands of simultaneous connections for wireless sensors
- high Spectral efficiency compared to 4G
- improved area coverage
- Enhanced signal efficiency
- Reduced latency as compared to LTE.
-In addition to providing simply faster speeds, 5G networks also will need to meet new use cases, such as the Internet of Things , broadcast-like services and lifeline communication in times of natural disaster. Carriers, chip makers, OEMS and OSATs,
-Current 4G standard is ITU-T 4G standards. The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the spectrum for 5G, including the 28 Gigahertz, 37 GHz and 39 GHz bands, on 14 July 2016.
-Countries like china, japan, south Korea and other Scandinavian countries are working of 5G ntewok technologies for commercial use
-In india state run BSNL-Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is planned to offer 5G network/mobile services in india.
- January 2017, Reliance Jio and Samsung collaborated to upgrade its existing 4G LTE-A network to 5G in India
- February 2017, India's government run telecom operator BSNL collaborated with Nokia for setting up 5G networks.
- March 2017, India's Airtel announced a partnership with Nokia to set up 5G mobile and IoT networks in the country
